To test IP test (rain test) on luminaires,IT products etc.

 Oblique Rain test  Equipment  is used for rain proof luminaires (IP3) and splash-Proof Luminaires (IP4).

This apparatus consists of a tube formed into a semicircle and it is perforated of 0.4mm diameter holes at a specified distance from each other and directed towards the center of the semicircle.                                

The holes are made only in the arc subtending an angle of 60 on either side of the vertical. The tube is oscillated with the help of a lever through an angle of 120 , 60 on either side of the vertical .A control valve and a pressure gauge are provided to control and measure the head of water.

The luminaires is mounted above the pivot line of the tube and is kept below the center  of the circle with adjust its height ,so that jets of water are directed  towards the luminaires . An electric pumps is provided for re-circulation of water .Further the luminaires is made to turn about its vertical axis during the test at a rate of 1 revolution per minute, for which a set of motor ,reduction gear box ,plate etc. with water proof enclosures are used in the system.

In rain proof luminaires test the tube will be perforated so that jets of water are directed toward the center of the circle and the water pressure at the inlet of the apparatus will approximately 80kN/m2.In splash proof luminaires water are sprayed from every direction by means of spray apparatus.
